Level 2 Classes

Int. - Adv. Players
Fiddle Classes have been divided up to give students a chance to take classes at their ability level with all instructors. Classes will focus on different types of tunes... strathspey, reels, jigs, airs... to avoid overlap of material by different teachers. Students are encouraged to stick with their level of ability rather than a single teacher for the weekend.
Repertoire Classes are for all different instruments and offered at both levels. Students should be able to learn music either from written music or by ear on their instruments.
Hammered Dulcimer Classes will teach back up and accompaniement techniques using a largely Scottish and Cape Breton repertoire.
Step Dance Class will present a variety of different steps, progressing from easy to difficult. All levels of dancers are encouraged to participate.
Ceilidh Class will introduce dance forms specific to Cape Breton, most of these will also be done during the evening dance, but it is good to have a core of experienced dancers to help the evening go more smoothly.
Fiddle History is hands on for fiddlers but of interest and open to all.
Most Classes will teach repertoire by ear, but will have printed music available afterwards for those who need it. Ear training is an important skill to develop when learning this style of music.
